We are a small diversified farm offering in-season produce, berries, and value added products. We practice sustainability, growing naturally/organic (not certified) and rotational grazing/no hormone or anitibiotics care to our dairy goats. We offer workshops through Mayland Community College (Yancey Campus) and On-Farm workshops.
We have just published a booklet of some of our workshops available from Lulu.com (4.99) Titled, "The Mushroom
Hut @ Fox Farms...a collection of workshops".
We also offer farm tours but please call ahead first and schedule since we are a working farm.
We also offer "to order" products such as our hand-crafted tiles, bowls and plates. We have hand-made necklaces made from stones/semi-precious gemstones that we find here on the farm...these are called "rocks on a string". We offer Mountain and Native American crafts; cornhusk dolls, dreamcatchers, drums, smudge sticks and more...these can also be purchased "to order". We offer goats' milk soaps. We offer honey when the bees have enough to share.
We have an energy efficient certified On-Farm Kitchen Facility where we make our Farm Fresh/Flower Essence Jellies, Bloody Butcher Cornmeal, Raw Milk Pet Food (certification/permit can be supplied upon request), Baked goods as ingredients are available.
We are starting our "clayworks" up again and hope to have some new stuff out soon. We are now members of the
Toe River Arts Council and hope to be part of the Studio Tour this year!
We offer fresh Shiitake Mushrooms and mushroom products as they "fruit".
